Howden – Corporate & Commercial are on the hunt for a Telesales Executive to join our highly successful Schemes teams and develop your experience and career within the insurance market. This is a lead‑generation focused role, working across multiple specialist schemes to identify opportunities, generate pipeline, and support new business growth. You will be responsible for outbound prospecting, lead qualification, and developing early‑stage relationships that convert into high‑quality opportunities for our Schemes Account Executives. The Telesales Executive will demonstrate strong communication skills, resilience, and the ability to build rapport quickly while maximising new business opportunities.
You will be based in our Maidstone office and ideally be onsite for 3 days per week on average. You may be required to occasionally travel for client visits, off‑site training, and internal meetings as and when required.
This is a full‑time, permanent opportunity.
Overview
Proactively generate new business opportunities through outbound telesales activity across the Schemes teams. Research, identify, and contact prospective clients to create a consistent and high‑quality new business pipeline. Qualify prospects effectively before passing warm opportunities to the relevant Account Executive. Support Schemes teams by nurturing early‑stage opportunities and re‑engaging historic or dormant leads. Accurately record all prospect activity, outcomes, and next actions in Acturis, ensuring pipelines are always up to date. Work closely with Account Executives and Team Leaders to align prospecting activity with scheme‑specific strategies and targets. Follow up marketing leads and campaign activity in a timely and professional manner. Build initial rapport with prospective clients and deliver a strong first impression of Howden. Meet and exceed individual and team lead‑generation and activity targets. Ensure all activity complies with FCA, GDPR, and Howden procedures at all times.
Knowledge
- An understanding of the insurance market and the role of brokers within it.
- Working knowledge of FCA regulation, GDPR, and basic compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of Motor Trade, Commercial Insurance, or Schemes business is desirable but not essential.
- Acturis knowledge is preferred but not required (training will be provided).

Qualifications
- Previous experience in telesales, lead generation, or a sales‑based role is preferred.
- Insurance experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Willingness to work towards professional insurance qualifications (Cert CII desirable).
