We are seeking a passionate and client‑focused Sales Associate to join our prestigious Jermyn Street boutique in London on a full‑time basis. Established in 1995, the store is renowned for offering exceptional ready‑to‑wear and made‑to‑order footwear and accessories to an international clientele, supported by a close‑knit team of four.

Job Description

As a Sales Associate, you will play a key role in delivering impeccable service to our discerning global clientele while contributing to every aspect of boutique operations. From cultivating long‑term customer relationships to supporting stock management and after‑care services, you will help ensure each client experience reflects the highest standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional, personalised customer service at every stage of the client journey
  • Build strong and lasting relationships to encourage customer loyalty and retention
  • Maximise sales opportunities while maintaining a thoughtful and consultative approach
  • Support the day‑to‑day operations of the boutique, including stock handling and deliveries
  • Coordinate after‑care services and customer communications with professionalism and attention to detail
  • Assist with administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the store

Main Accountabilities

  • Sales floor operations, including offering excellent customer service and maximising sales opportunities while developing long‑term relationships
  • Ensure clients have a warm in‑store experience throughout the journey, demonstrating warmth, sincerity and patience in all dealings
  • Develop in‑depth knowledge of all John Lobb’s products: their features and benefits
  • Maintain and refresh in‑store displays following guidelines to keep them relevant and attractive
  • Act as a brand ambassador, contacting customers via different platforms, building up client book and developing new customers
  • Operate the till and payment system, including processing exchanges and returns
  • Perform excellent after‑sales and sales support activities, delivering outstanding service with a client‑centric mindset
  • Communicate strongly with customers during the selling ceremony and continue the relationship afterward, extending the experience digitally
  • Manage the client database with accurate CRM capture and record‑keeping
  • Hold and maintain a solid local client base for long‑term relationships
  • Support special orders, ensuring thorough communication throughout the process
  • Generate and capture remote sales by communicating on different platforms
  • Collaborate in planning and executing in‑store and off‑site events
  • Advise on styling and fashion trends, understanding competitors
  • Maintain knowledge of stock availability and manage proper storage and handling
  • Assist in stock taking, cycle counts, and improve processes
  • Participate in stock ordering, receiving, and maintenance processes
  • Handle internal and external transfers, completing related paperwork
  • Support the e‑commerce platform, validating orders and conducting shipments
  • Take part in security activities, ensuring stock or property is protected
  • Liaise with the wider John Lobb team to support store requirements
  • Undertake projects and responsibilities with direction from the Manager

Applicant Profile

  • Previous experience (minimum 3 years) in high‑end/luxury international retail contexts; experience in men’s sector is a plus
  • Strong client skills, with an established client book being a plus
  • High interest and good sense of fashion and trends
  • Excellent communication skills: written and oral English
  • Fluency in another language would be a strong advantage
  • Some experience of retail administration; good understanding of CRM, databases and e‑commerce is a plus
