Based in our brand new, state-of-the-art head office in Tolworth, our IT Business Consulting department is looking for a highly motivated, and driven individual to join the team and build a career in a fast paced and international environment. Our IT department at Lidl GB is continuing to expand and plays a crucial role in our international success. In our Head Office alone, we have over 100 colleagues managing and supporting our solution landscape. Our Business Consulting department are currently looking for a new consultant who will be responsible for the implementation of solutions for our national network of distribution centres. We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate IT Business Consultant who will proactively consult, advise on solutions and manage state-of-the-art projects such as the automation of the largest Distribution Centre in the Lidl estate in Luton using SAP EWM. What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with business consultants on potential new solutions and improvements to existing solutions; ensure the stability, security and quality of provided solutions; manage internal and external resources and report to the team manager; provide solutions to the business in a cost-efficient way whilst maintaining security, functionality and time-to-market; maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the technical infrastructure as well as component platforms in use; provide support and incident management for applicable solutions; ensure solution investments and costs are accurately planned for in accordance with the annual planning process; participate in and lead projects at both national and international level.

  • Manage Goods Issue Logistics solutions throughout their lifecycle from conception through to retirement; ensure excellent working relationships with stakeholders; collaborate with colleagues across the business to ensure the success and smooth operation of solutions.

What you’ll need

  • Working knowledge of logistics solutions, comprehensive knowledge of logistics processes and operations essential
  • An understanding of application security and governance practices is highly beneficial
  • Experience of project and stakeholder management essential
  • Knowledge of SAP EWM and internal processes and Goods Issue essential
  • Knowledge of requirement gathering essential; SQL knowledge beneficial
  • The ability to liaise and communicate at both a technical and non-technical level
  • A strong team mentality and good collaboration ethos
  • Comfortable multitasking a diverse portfolio of projects and tasks
  • Strong ownership of tasks and a keen eye for detail
  • Proactive in keeping up to date with the latest technologies
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills essential
  • Occasional travel to European countries required
  • German language skills desirable but not essential
