L3 Teaching Assistant and Higher-Level Teaching Assistant Vacancy (Ref: SBMAT387)

Permanent, Term Time Only

Grade 5 Pts 12-16 and/or Grade 4 Pts 7-11

Hours: 15 hours (part-time) or 30 hours (dual role)

Start: September 2026

Role Description

The Trustees are seeking to appoint a L3 Teaching Assistant combined with a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant vacancy. The opportunity can be a:

  1. 15-hour minimum Level 3 or equivalent Teaching Assistant – distinct appointment
  2. 15-hour minimum Level 3/Higher-Level Teaching Assistant – distinct appointment
  3. 30-hour dual role combining both responsibilities

Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant role include leading targeted interventions to help children close gaps in learning and providing effective in-class support alongside teachers.

Responsibilities for the Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) role include providing high-quality whole-class PPA cover across the school or key stage, delivering engaging learning experiences and supporting the school’s high standards of teaching and learning.
