Position Summary

2 Permanent Full Time Level 2 Teaching Assistants, starting 5th January 2026. Grade 2 SCP 3 – 8. Salary: £24,796 – £26,824 + SEN point pro rata. 32.5 hours per week, term time only. School: Longwill Primary School for Deaf Children, Bell Hill, Northfield, Birmingham B31 1LD. Head Teacher: Miss Jessica Rosser.

Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Work alongside Teachers of the Deaf and fellow Teaching Assistants, both Deaf and hearing.
  • Support the varied and complex needs of Deaf sign bilingual pupils, some with additional needs.
  • Use own initiative and creative thinking to support learning.
  • Communicate with British Sign Language at minimum Level 1.
  • Collaborate with team to meet the school’s needs and support professional development.
  • Work flexibly to meet the needs of the school.

  • Highly motivated with high expectations for Deaf children.
  • Enthusiastic, motivated, and a lifelong learner.
  • Actively engaged in CPD (Continuing Professional Development) is essential.
