Overview
One or two Personal Assistants (PAs) are required to support a giggly and energetic young boy with Autism and complex additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the child during community activities (park visits, swimming, walks/runs, bus rides) and indoor play.
- Provide calm, patient support to help the child remain safe and settled, especially when overwhelmed or dysregulated.
- Assist with personal care, including toileting and routine tasks that the child cannot perform independently.
- Follow guidance, routines, and strategies established by the mother to ensure consistency at home and in the community.
- Build trust and help the child access enjoyable activities safely, promoting independence where possible.
Qualifications and Preferences
- Experience or understanding of Autism, sensory needs, and supporting non‑verbal children.
- Kind, patient, reliable, and understanding of children with additional needs.
- Preferred: Drivers with access to their own transport.
Requirements
- Successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
