About the Service
The Streetpride Service is Coventry City Council’s Street Cleansing and Grounds Maintenance Service, dedicated to maintaining a clean and attractive city. The service operates from three strategically based sites, providing a 24/7 cleansing service for 52 weeks a year, covering 10,000 miles of road network and emptying over 3,000 street litter bins weekly.

What is the job role?
As a Neighbourhood Operative, you will be working as part of our street cleansing team. You will be responsible for ensuring our streets are kept clean at all times by undertaking a range of street cleansing activities and ensuring all work is carried out by the appropriate Safe Systems of Work.
- Sweeping streets
- Emptying bins
- Litter picking
- Removal of small‑scale graffiti
- Collection of other associated waste as required
Working Hours & Weekend Pay
Two positions are available, each including weekend working as part of the rota. An additional weekend payment is offered in addition to the advertised salary.
- Wednesday to Sunday 9:30 am to 17:30 pm / finish 17:00 pm on Friday
- Friday to Tuesday 9:30 am to 17:30 pm / finish 17:00 pm on Friday

- Reliable and committed
- Professional attitude and willingness to take on tasks and duties within the remit of the role
- Physically fit and able to walk for long periods, work in all weather, and undertake various labouring tasks involving bending, pulling, and lifting
- Customer‑focused and able to remain respectful, calm, and polite in environments where challenging behaviours or situations may arise
- Confident to take appropriate action to avoid formal complaints
- Right to work in the UK
