Based in a busy mail room environment, the successful candidate will be customer-focused, adaptable, and capable of multitasking as required by the business, with full training provided where necessary.

Key responsibilities include ensuring the secure handling and protection of mail and personal information, following all security procedures including identifying and responding to suspect mail, receiving and distributing parcels and letters from Royal Mail and commercial couriers, sorting and redirecting mail accurately within set timescales, and obtaining signatures where required.

The role also involves delivering mail around the site using a mail van, collecting and preparing outgoing mail, maintaining a clean and secure work environment, reporting any irregularities, and ensuring compliance with Health and Safety and GDPR regulations.

Candidates should be reliable, trustworthy, physically fit, and able to work both independently and as part of a team, with good customer service skills, basic IT literacy, and a flexible approach to changing priorities.

A full Category B driving licence and the ability to lift and move sacks and parcels are essential.

The position requires MOD security clearance and DBS checks, with UK residency requirements applying for vetting purposes, as well as proof of the right to work in the UK. The role operates on a37.5-hour Monday to Friday schedule with some flexibility required, and approved company workwear must be worn.
