Support Worker required for a lady in Gilesgate, Durham – Durham – DH1
Support Worker required to support Sarah (aged 44 years) who lives in Gilesgate, Durham. Sarah is usually an outgoing person but has lost a lot of self‑confidence recently. Sarah has a diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder and experiences thought broadcasting and constant voice hearing. Sarah requires support to build up her confidence in accessing the community; particularly in going swimming and grocery shopping.
Hours / Wage
4 hours per week £13 per hour. This would consist of 2 x 2 hour slots each week. These would need to be on weekday mornings, preferably on Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays.
Duties
- Support Sarah to travel to the local supermarket, and support to complete grocery shopping and build Sarah’s confidence to do so independently.
- Support Sarah to attend the local swimming pool and swim alongside her, providing emotional support if required.
Additional Requirements/Information
Essential Criteria
- Someone who is willing and able to swim alongside Sarah.
- Someone who has access to a car, can drive and has the relevant business insurance.
Desirable Criteria
- Someone who has training in or experience working with individuals who struggle with their mental health.
Enhanced DBS will be required, employer will cover the cost.
