Profitable FinTech scale‑up

Product and Customer oriented

The Business

We’re partnered with a profitable, VC‑backed, ethical fintech scale‑up who are helping hundreds of thousands of small businesses with their cash flow and financing. They use a customer oriented, data‑driven approach to product development and a pragmatic balance between engineering and product throughout the business.

The Role

You will guide both the technical architecture and the engineers responsible for the delivery of the technology and models that determines their lending – e.g. who, how much, and on what terms.

You’d set the direction of the engineering systems that underpin Credit Risk modelling, including the platform, pipelines, and production systems around the models.

They’re looking for someone product minded, curious about customer interactions and data, who can create a close pragmatic bond with the product team.

This is a hands‑on technical leadership role, combining IC work, line management (3‑4 people), setting technical direction and strategy.

Core Requirements

  • Experienced and still hands on when it comes to software/data engineering – Python (ideal), TypeScript, GO or similar.
  • Familiar with Data Engineering toolset – Snowflake/DBT/Postgres or similar data platforms.
  • Experience designing and operating ML systems in production.
  • Experience working with Data Science and Software Engineering teams.
  • Experience coaching/leading a small team.
  • A background in a highly numerical discipline and a generalist mindset with ability to operate across software, data and ML.

Burns Sheehan Ltd will consider applications based only on skills and ability and will not discriminate on any grounds.
