Street Cleansing Operative / HGV Driver

Location: Isle of Wight

Hours: 40 hours per week: 5/ 6.00am – 1.30/2.30pm.

Days: Monday – Sunday on a rota basis

Duration: Temporary ongoing

Duties

• Safe operation of left-hand drive road sweepers, working to planned routes and schedules.
• Vehicle checks, basic maintenance and reporting defects.
• Road sweeping, litter picking and removal of debris.
• Adherence to health and safety and highways regulations.
• Emptying public rubbish bins including dog waste.
• Weed removal, clearing pavements, paths, drains and gullies of green waste.

Experience / Qualifications

• Must have full clean HGV driver’s license and a good awareness of health and safety.
• Must be physically fit due to nature of duties.
• Must be able to work well as part of a team and on own initiative.

Salary: £13.04 per hour worked increasing after 12 weeks
