Responsibilities

General Day to Day Tasks

  • Model calm, respectful behavior and encourage socially acceptable behavior.
  • Supervise young people throughout the day to maintain safety and appropriate boundaries.
  • Support young people with routines: waking, meals, hygiene, school prep, accessing activities, good sleep hygiene / bedtime routine.
  • Provide guidance and emotional support during daily activities.
  • Participate in and lead activities and outings.

Team Responsibilities

  • Write daily logs and attend team meetings.
  • Share relevant information with the team during handovers.
  • Attend supervision and training to work well together.
  • Maintain a clean home and contribute to home tasks.
  • Follow all safeguarding procedures and maintain confidentiality.
  • Drive or escort young people to school, appointments, activities, and shopping trips.
  • Complete sleep‑in duties when scheduled.
  • Contribute to a calm, stable, emotionally secure home environment.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Holding a Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or related) or working towards a Level 4 diploma.

Essential Qualifications

  • Empathy, patience, and strong communication skills, teamwork.
  • Driving license and ability to drive a company vehicle (flexible for bank staff).
  • Be physically active.

Working Pattern

Full time: 8 am – 10 pm or 8 am – 11 pm + sleep (or variable for last‑minute cover). Relief staff will always be given advance notice as often as possible about cover needed, including for annual leave, gaps in rota and sickness cover.
