Peripatetic Cemetery Operative
Grade B £28,598 – £34,434
Consultation grade – subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review
Working 36.5 hours per week
The successful candidate will support the Head of Bereavement Services, Registrars and Cemetery teams in the provision of burials 364 days a year and statutory requirements on a day‑to‑day basis. The role includes deputising for the Foreperson and supporting efficient, discreet services.
Weekend and Bank Holiday working will be required, working any 5 days in 7 on a rotational basis to support operational requirements at Sutton New Hall or other sites.
As a peripatetic role covering all Birmingham areas, applicants must demonstrate flexibility and hold a full driving licence.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the Head of Bereavement Services, Registrars and Cemetery teams.
- Deputise for the Foreperson and assist in the provision of efficient, discreet services.
- Attend to statutory requirements for burials 364 days a year.
- Work weekend and Bank Holiday rotations as required.
