Shifts Available
- 19:00 – 06:00 and 08:00 – 19:00 (nights/days) Sunday to Wednesday on an alternating Shift System
- 08:00 – 19:00 and 19:00 – 06:00 (days/nights) Tuesday to Friday on an alternating Shift System
Training will begin on Monday – Friday for a period ≈ 3 weeks
Overview
The role of the warehouse operative is to efficiently and accurately pick and despatch plastic building products to our customer base, ensuring Health & Safety standards and other established SOPs are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Highlight any Health & Safety issues to the Shift Supervisor immediately. It is your responsibility to ensure you perform all your tasks in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company Health & Safety rules and working practices.
- Attend a daily pre shift briefing with the Team Leader, paying attention to all information given when required.
- Ensure all Picking documentation is completed correctly, giving accurate information at all times.
- Ensure product care is continuous and all equipment is treated with care at all times, highlighting any damage to the Team Leader immediately.
- Ensure that a high level of communication is provided at all times.
- Total focus is required at all times, ensuring a positive approach is provided and motivation/flexibility is continuously maintained.
- Identifying continuous improvement initiatives where possible.
- Ensure you achieve the agreed picking targets. Allocating your daily pick results to your Team Leader at the end of the shift.
- Ensure a visual quality check is completed before picking any product, identifying any concerns immediately to the Shift Co-ordinator.
- Ensure that the correct product is located in the slot before picking and that the correct quantity is picked; any stock issues must be identified to the Shift Supervisor immediately, ensuring you have checked the product code before picking the item.
- Ensure that all individual loads are labelled and dated correctly for despatch.
- Liaise with the Team Leader at the end of each shift, detailing any outstanding pick requirements that you are unable to complete in your normal working hours.
- Ensure you pay attention to your allocated duties at all times, reducing the error rate accordingly.
- Assist in any other internal department when required.
- Attend the twice yearly stock takes to its completion.
- Keep your working area tidy at all times, reporting any hazards to the Team Leader.
- Undertake any relevant training that is required to develop your role in the future.
- You will be required to carry out any reasonable request asked of you, by your Shift Co-ordinator /Warehouse manager at all times.
