The Directors of Mater Christi Trust are looking to appoint a Clerk to the Board
Contract and Working Hours
Contract: Permanent, Full Year, 15 – 20 hours per week subject to discussion (flexible working available).
Salary: Grade 15, SCP 36-37, £47,181 – 48,226 per annum (£19,127.43 – £19,551.08 pro rata based on 15 hours per week).
Location: Blessed Christopher Robinson House, Carlisle.
Required start: As soon as possible.

Role Overview
The Clerk to the Board will provide strategic leadership for governance across the Mater Christi Trust, ensuring effective, compliant, and high-performing governance at Board and Member level. The role ensures governance adheres to statutory and regulatory requirements, reflects good practice, and supports effective decision-making.
Key Responsibilities

Attributes & Skills
- Strong organisational skills.
- Confidence working at a senior level.
- Strong understanding of governance or willingness to develop expertise in this area.
- Understanding and commitment to the values and purpose of Catholic Education.
Essential Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience.
- Recognised governance qualification or working towards one (e.g. ICSA/CGI, NGA, equivalent).
- Strong working knowledge of charity and company governance.
