Role Summary
Our Site Manager is currently recruiting for a dedicated and reliable Goods on Hold Operative to help strengthen our depot operations team.
Responsibilities
In this role you will work closely with the Operations Manager, account for the held parcel process within the depot, and work to achieve deadlines and targets. You will ensure maximum visibility of a parcel through its life cycle and present it for delivery on the required date. You will also resolve customer queries and deal with depot collections.
- Ensure all ‘unable to locate’ parcels have the correct delivery information.
- If any parcels are damaged or open, take them to the goods on hold area for further investigation.
- Be accountable for requesting further information or returning parcel to the customer.
- Complete the administration of mis‑routes and mislabelled parcels.
- Work closely with senior management and security to identify and prevent fraudulent consignments.
- Carry out housekeeping checks.
- Deal with any customer parcel searches as requested.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a fast‑paced administrative role, ideally in a warehouse or customer‑facing environment.
- High level of accuracy, self‑motivation and organisation.
- Strong communication skills, confident interacting with customers over the phone and face to face.
- Excellent administration skills and ability to use Microsoft Office programmes.
- Outstanding attention to detail including security awareness.
