Job Title: Waste Operative
Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour
Contract Type: Full Time
Type of Employment: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 06:00 – 14:00, 14:00 – 22:00 and 22:00-06:00 (4 on / 2 off)
Location: Manchester Airport, Manchester, Greater Manchester, England, M90 1QX
Responsibilities:
- Collect, move, sort, process and dispatch waste and other materials, including compaction of waste and cardboard.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
- Monitor performance of equipment.
- Support the On‑Site Waste Coordinator in meeting site objectives.
- Follow PPE guidance.
Qualifications:
- Current Counter Balance FLT license.
- Experience carrying out strenuous tasks, including in extreme weather conditions.
- Good level of communicative English, attention to detail, excellent time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in Health & Safety training.
- Understanding of waste management and environmental legislation.
- Experience with static balers and compactors.
- Pass a DBS Check and drugs/alcohol screening test.
