About The Role

The role available will be working from our Ellesmere Port site alongside a United Utilities customer support Technician, where you will be required to work on the Bucket 1 reactive contract solving problems on the sewer network. This role will be on a shift‑based pattern with working times of 8am to 6pm front shift and 12pm to 10pm back shift. Weekends and Bank Holidays are included.

Location: Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

Hours: 42.5 hours per week.

Salary: £33,990 to £37,526 per annum depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with a CST (UU Operative) to clean, camera and carry out sewer investigations as directed by United Utilities.
  • Attending to customers, informing them of works to be carried out and answering any concerns as well as timescales.
  • Inspect drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage that could hinder water flow.
  • Carry out all aspects of high pressure water jetting.
  • Operate high‑pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
  • Carry out CCTV inspections where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
  • Competent in using an electronic device – laptop / tablet for data entry purposes.
  • Ensuring safety issues are reported in line with company procedures.
  • Perform routine maintenance and servicing of high‑pressure water jetting equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.

Full training will be given in the following areas: Jetting/SLG/First Aid/Manual Handling/Confined Spaces.
