Job Description:

Overview

To carry out general maintenance works and operations, working with a Chargehand, undertaking a wide range of routine and cyclical works. To respond to emergencies and call outs during or out of hours on rotas as required and assist with winter maintenance activities as a second man or driver’s mate. Includes apprentices who have fully completed training.

  • Minimum level of every day behaviour as set out in the company behaviours matrix

Specialist Skills

  • To have and be able to apply a wide range of generalist skills
  • To understand risk assessments and to assess according to safe systems of work
  • To be able to understand and carry out work as set out in a specification
  • Generally hold 12 months+ experience
  • Potential & interest in obtaining LGV licence
  • Undertaken training on: General health & safety awareness / Risk assessment awareness / Traffic Management / Use of PDA as required
  • Ability to use small plant and equipment
  • Ability to operate mini excavator

  • Prepared to work varying hours to meet the needs of the business
  • Willingness to apply skills to a variety of different highways jobs, with changing team members
  • Prepared to develop and undertake relevant training and qualifications
