An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic individual to join the team within the Emergency Department as full time.

We welcome applications from Graduate visa holders; it is important to note that you must have a minimum of 6 months before this expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.

Main duties of the job

  • Have responsibility for housekeeping duties on the ward
  • Disseminate good practice to ward teams to ensure service is maintained in their absence
  • Provide an efficient housekeeping service, ensuring that high standards are always maintained. Ensure that a friendly, welcoming, clean, organised, safe and comfortable working environment is provided for patients, visitors and staff

Please be aware that this post requires an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check with barred lists, the cost of which is payable by the successful candidate. If you have lived or worked abroad for 6 months or more in the last 5 years you will need to obtain an overseas police clearance.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to undertake and maintain mandatory training.
  • Vocational Level 3

Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to communicate clearly, confidently, and courteously with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to give instructions and guidance to colleagues.
  • Ability to recognise issues, prioritise tasks, and take appropriate action within procedures.
  • Ability to organise own workload and coordinate tasks for others.

Experience

  • Experience of housekeeping or cleaning services, preferably in a healthcare or similar setting.
  • Experience of supervising or coordinating staff.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control standards in healthcare settings.
  • Experience of monitoring standards or completing audits or checklists.
