Responsibilities

  • Provide direct service and assistance to customers, including registration of members, loan and receipt of items, dealing with stock requests and overdue items, keep items in order, assist customers to select and find relevant items or information.
  • Ensure a high level of customer care ensuring a welcoming, pleasant and well‑kept environment for customers. This may be in person, over the phone, through email or the web or by other means. Keep accurate record of any messages and refer customers to other appropriate sources when necessary.
  • Keep the library’s resources in good order to ensure efficient use by the customer. Check the condition of stock and act appropriately and circulate stock in line with stock rotation practices.
