Pay and Hours
Hourly rate starts from £13.28, increasing to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
New colleagues are offered a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week; working fewer hours (minimum 12) is also possible.
Responsibilities
- Help serve shoppers better every day.
- Meet great people, learn new things and be part of a specialist, diverse team where everyone is welcome.
- Know your customers and provide service with passion and pride.
- Work across the store in service, picking, and replenishment areas as required.
- Apply received training safely, effectively and to serve customers brilliantly.
- Make decisions that are right for customers, delivering routines in store that meet their needs at the right time.
- Participate in seasonal, community and charity events, creating an inclusive atmosphere.
- Be knowledgeable about store performance, understanding your role and contributing to driving service and sales, reducing waste and shrink, and delivering profit.
- Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition.
- Live Tesco values, make everyone feel welcome and always follow policies.
- Accept deliveries into the store when required.

Additional Requirements
Applicants must be over 18 unless the role requires working before 06:15 or after 21:45, or involves certain areas such as the warehouse, beer, wine, spirits, counters, bakery or driving roles. Tesco will only recruit individuals who have passed the school leaver’s age; the specific age limit depends on the country. Candidates must accept these conditions before applying.
