Creative Business Internship: CMF (Colours, Materials, Finishes) Designer at EcoLattice

Salary £15.65 per hour

Hours 150 Hours, from 1 September to 13 November 2026 (Note: can complete before 13 November). Flexible working pattern to be agreed at onboarding stage.

Internship Length 6 – 11 weeks (max)

Internship Location Hybrid. Onsite locations across London (specific addresses to be confirmed based on client meetings).

  • Interaction with clients, customers and team members
  • Communicates material and finish intent clearly through boards, swatches, and documentation
  • Email Communication with the team and customers
  • Help in Curation and representing the brand during any exhibition or events that happen during the internship period

This role suits a graduate or final-year student from a Product Design, Industrial Design, Material Futures, Design Products, or Textile and Surface Design background who wants to develop specialist CMF experience within a materials company. We are looking for someone with:

  • A strong eye for colour, texture, and material quality
  • Understanding of CMF principles and how finish decisions affect product perception
  • Ability to communicate material and finish intent clearly through boards, swatches, and documentation
  • Curiosity about manufacturing processes and how production constraints shape design decisions
  • Comfortable working with physical materials as well as digital presentation tools
  • Communicating with various clients across the globe
  • Exceptional skills in Adobe suites, AI tools, and CAD modelling are a plus point.
  • Knowledge in Excel, Google Workspace

  • Hands‑on work with Materials
  • Exposure to real client and retail briefs where CMF decisions directly affect commercial outcomes
  • Collaboration with the founding team, product designer, and materials lead
  • Understanding of how CMF is developed and communicated within a start‑up at commercial scale
  • Market analysis for product outreach and building client relationships
