- £17.48 per hour – Early Shifts
- £20.98 per hour – Late Shifts

Role Overview
Our client is currently seeking an experienced Yard Shunter / Yard Operative to work on a busy logistics site. This is a key operational role focused on the safe and efficient movement of trailers and equipment within the yard, ensuring smooth warehouse and transport operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct incoming vehicles and equipment to the correct loading and parking bays
- Liaise with warehouse and planning teams to maintain a smooth trailer flow
- Monitor equipment availability and report shortages that may impact loading
- Ensure all trailers are legally compliant
- Position trailers on and off bays as required
- Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient yard environment
- Follow correct VOR (Vehicle Off Road) procedures
- Assist with yard and trailer-related queries
- Comply with all Health & Safety policies and site procedures
- Carry out additional operational duties as required
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow safe working practices at all times
- Attend Health & Safety briefings as required
- Take responsibility for your own safety and that of others in line with:
- Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
- Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999
- Ensure compliance with all relevant systems, processes, and legislation
- Support internal quality and compliance audits where necessary
Essential Requirements
- C+E Licence or recognised Yard Shunting Qualification
- Calm under pressure with a professional, safety‑focused approach
- Flexible and adaptable to changing operational needs
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Driver CPC
- No more than 6 penalty points for minor offences
- Knowledge of Drivers’ Hours and the Working Time Directive
- Drawbar experience
- Good geographical knowledge
