Responsibilities

• Dishwashing – wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment by hand or using industrial dishwashers
• Kitchen cleanliness – clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops and food preparation areas; empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste
• Food preparation – assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping and slicing ingredients
• Inventory management – assist in receiving, storing and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
• Compliance with health and safety – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and ensure equipment is in good working order

Qualifications

• No formal education required; understanding of the role and catering/kitchen experience is a plus
• Physical stamina – able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
