Job Description:

Are you a student or recent graduate who wants to help make sure children in London can access free adventure playgrounds? Join us as a student volunteer and help us protect these community hubs!

What difference will you make?

By supporting our projects and corporate volunteer days to run smoothly, you’ll be helping protect adventure playgrounds in London, making sure these vital play spaces stay open for local children and communities. Thanks to you, children across the city will be able to keep exploring, experimenting, learning, laughing, connecting and creating.

What are we looking for?

  • Must be a student or recent graduate in the UK, and happy to travel to different sites across London
  • The motivation to learn and get involved in different things
  • The drive to support real, positive community change

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of power tools or onsite experience
  • Understanding of child-led play and adventure playgrounds

We welcome anyone who cares about community, wants to gain practical experience, and is happy to get in stuck in where they’re needed!

What will you be doing?

  • Supporting the team with logistics and project delivery, ensuring a safe working environment
  • Working alongside and guiding corporate volunteers
  • Providing hands-on help with tasks such as fixing and building timber structures (think ramps, steps and frames), landscaping, solving small design issues, sorting materials, painting/decorating, replacing and maintaining play equipment, gardening, and clearing areas.
  • Taking photos and videos of the day, e.g. volunteers in action, before/after photos
  • Setting up and packing up at the end of the day

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone seeking hands-on experience in community projects, site management, construction, or architecture. You’ll gain valuable skills in teamwork and problem-solving, as well as an insight into how community projects and partnerships happen. You’ll also become a DIY master!

We’ll cover your food/travel expenses up to £15 per day.
