An exciting opportunity for a healthcare professional to work as a Radiopharmacy Production Assistant.
Main duties of the job
- Perform general duties in Radiopharmacy, maintaining a high level of hygiene in all areas.
- Help with transfer sanitisation of manufacturing materials into the clean room and preparing cleanroom gowns for laundry.
- Arrange safe disposal of radioactive materials.
- Support a multi‑disciplinary team to ensure timely dispatch of radioactive products.
- Provide dispensing support and dispensing checks, including routine daily consistency checks of all dose calibrators and topping up all blank labels.
Qualifications
- Evidence of good general education (GCSE Level C/4 and above, or equivalent).
- Obtained/working towards NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy services or equivalent.
- Literate and numerate to the degree required for the post.
- Completed the East and South East England 2‑day Aseptic Dispensing Course.
Experience
- Understanding of aseptic processing.
- Understanding of a wide range of SOPs or work practices.
- Experience working in a hospital aseptic unit or similar environment.
- Previous experience working in the NHS.
Knowledge
- Basic computer literacy (Word, Excel).
- Full understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) or equivalent.
- Understanding of Quality Management Systems.
- Maintaining clean and hygienic work environments.
- Awareness of clean environments and/or radiation.
- Knowledge of Trust policy and procedures, including COSHH.

- Good written and verbal communication.
- Good interpersonal skills, liaising regularly with key groups/stakeholders.
- Good organisational skills.
- Ability to think ahead and plan accordingly.
- Ability to respond to change and apply new developments without difficulty.
- Demonstrates resilience and ability to cope under pressure.
- Shows initiative and an enquiring mind.
- Works collaboratively and enthusiastically as a member of a multi‑disciplinary team.
