Samsung Research UK (SRUK) is seeking exceptional and highly motivated interns to join our dynamic AI team. This is your chance to work on cutting‑edge technologies, such as Agentic Agents and Large Language Models (LLMs), and see your innovations shipped in production, impacting millions of users worldwide.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and develop agentic systems with autonomous decision‑making, goal‑setting, and task completion capabilities.
  • Optimize agentic memory frameworks and multi‑agent interactions.
  • Fine‑tune and deploy LLMs and adaptors for on‑device and server applications using reinforcement learning and supervised fine‑tuning.
  • Contribute to code libraries by adding new features and improving capabilities.
  • Lead the development of software prototypes, ensuring high code quality and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate research findings into Samsung products and services.

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (or recently completed). Master’s graduates with relevant experience are also considered.
  • Publication in top‑tier conferences and journals, such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, EMNLP, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, AAAI, ACL, IEEE TPAMI, IEEE TNNLS, IJCV, and JMLR.
  • Deep knowledge of LLMs, prompt engineering, and in‑context learning.
  • Proven track record in single and multi‑agent system design.
  • Proficiency in reinforcement learning (RL) and supervised fine‑tuning (SFT).
  • Experience in designing memory systems (episodic, semantic, procedural) and tools like vector databases.
  • Deep technical expertise in fine‑tuning, prompt engineering, and deploying HuggingFace models and vLLMs.
  • Expert proficiency in Python and PyTorch, with experience in NLP tasks.

Nice‑to‑Have Skills

  • Expertise in Java/Kotlin programming language.
  • Hands‑on experience with deep learning model optimisation (quantization, pruning, distillation).
  • Experience deploying AI models on‑device (mobile, embedded, edge accelerators).
