Role
As a Volunteer Support & Engagement Officer you will support the co‑ordination, development and delivery of volunteering activity across the organisation. You will work 22.5 hours per week, ideally Wednesday to Friday. Working as part of the wider team, you will help ensure volunteers feel valued, engaged and well supported in their roles, enabling projects and services that rely on volunteer involvement to thrive.
Responsibilities
You will help plan and deliver meaningful volunteering opportunities, including task‑based activities and individual volunteering projects. You will act as a key point of contact for volunteers and managers, co‑ordinate day‑to‑day volunteering activity and support Volunteer Task Leaders to develop their skills and confidence.
- Deliver volunteer inductions
- Support and encourage the use of digital volunteering tools
- Assist with volunteer communications and Volunteer Hub updates
- Share volunteer stories, successes and opportunities
- Support feedback initiatives, surveys and listening groups
- Work with partner groups to support volunteering activity
Qualifications
- Experience working with volunteers or communities
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of people
- Good IT skills and confidence using digital systems
- Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a team
- Understanding of safe working practices
- Ability to manage multiple priorities during busy periods
