Support Worker (Days & Nights)

Cedar Garden Care Home, Tag Lane, Preston.

22, 33, or 44-hour contract – 12-hour shifts 8-8 on a rota basis with every other weekend availability required.

About Cedar Garden Care Home

Cedar Garden is a specialist dementia nursing unit designed specifically for up to 30 male individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours. We’re dedicated to providing compassionate and person‑centred care to each of our residents.

Please note – There is a genuine occupational requirement as to why Male‑only applicants are needed, as you will be supporting males with very high dementia.

Your Role

As a Support Worker, you’ll play a vital part in helping individuals achieve their goals and maintain independence. You’ll support with personal care, daily living activities, and engagement in therapeutic routines, using trauma‑informed approaches and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver compassionate, person‑centred care
  • Motivate and support individuals to engage in meaningful activities
  • Promote dignity, choice, and independence
  • Implement care plans and behaviour support strategies
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Uphold accountability through accurate documentation and reflective practice
  • Night roles also include light cleaning duties to support the home
