World History Encyclopedia is a non‑profit organization publishing the world’s most‑read history encyclopedia. Our mission is to engage people with cultural heritage and to improve history education worldwide.
This position is a volunteer role; you will not get paid for your work. If you can communicate well and you are able to devote at least five hours per week to this position, we’d like to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Find and upload striking images relevant to forthcoming content on the encyclopedia.
- Edit image and image gallery submissions made by contributors to check they comply with our Style Guide.
- Expand the current list of image sources used by editors.
- Encourage photographers to contribute their images to the encyclopedia.
Requirements
- You are able to commit at least 5 hours per week to this position.
- You are able to identify images which complement our text content, which convey historically accurate information, and which include attribution notes that respect copyright requirements.
