Responsibilities
- Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers
- Kitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials
- Food Preparation – Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients
- Inventory Management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
- Compliance with Health and safety – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order
Qualifications
- No formal education is required
- Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment promptly and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, surfaces, storage areas, and waste disposal stations
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation when required
- Unpack and organise deliveries and stock items appropriately
- Ensure all health, safety, and hygiene standards are followed at all times
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods
- Remove rubbish and recycling regularlyHelp maintain an organised and safe kitchen environment
