Volunteering in the shop
Mary’s Living & Giving for Save the Children is a volunteer retail shop, selling womenswear, menswear, shoes, bags, and household goods to raise funds for children’s programs. The shop is located in the East Dulwich area of London.
This is a voluntary, unpaid role that must be based in the UK and applicants must be over 18. We do not offer visa support.
Responsibilities
- Sort and price stock.
- Engage with customers.
- Ring items through the till.
- Create window displays.
- Keep the shop floor organised.
Hours and Commitment
Commitment is flexible: volunteers can work a few hours a week, a morning or afternoon shift, or volunteer on Sundays. The specific schedule will be discussed during the selection stage.
Skills and experiences we seek
- Team player.
- Open to learning and following shop policies.
- Excellent representative for Save the Children.
Application Process
After completing an application, we invite volunteers to an informal trial shift to welcome them to the shop and demonstrate the tasks they would support. References are requested – these need not be formal workplace references but should be from someone who has known the applicant for at least six months and is not related.
