Overview
Majestic Wine Inverness, the UK’s largest wine and spirits specialist, is looking for a dynamic, ambitious and driven Sales Assistant to join our team. As a Sales Assistant you will support the store team in driving sales performance and day‑to‑day operations, delivering exceptional customer service and optimising KPI performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities, supporting the team to meet and exceed targets by focusing on KPI delivery.
- Deliver exceptional market‑leading customer service to drive business growth through customer loyalty and repeat purchases.
- Offer VIP concierge service, actively contacting customers with updates on products and tastings.
- Sell the story, not the discount, sharing passion for product with customers through an in‑depth knowledge of the range.
- Take ownership of wine knowledge, constantly learning about products to support WSET qualification and confidence in selling.
- Take accountability and pride for the physical appearance and maintenance of the store, internally and externally.
- Involve in all operational tasks required for day‑to‑day operations: delivering wine to customers, merchandising stock deliveries, and calling customers to drive sales opportunities.
- Continuously identify opportunities to optimise operational running of the store, feeding ideas back to the wider team for implementation.
- Remain fully compliant, safe & legal by following internal policies, processes and completing mandatory training.
- Be an example of Majestic’s Ways of Working, supporting junior team members and feeding back to the Store Manager as appropriate.
- As a key holder, understand opening and closing compliance and operate the store confidently without management supervision.

- Excellent communication and time‑management skills.
- Passion to learn wine knowledge; WSET Level 2 or higher desired.
- Full UK manual driving licence held for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.

- Hours: 15 hours per week.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
