Backend / Infrastructure Engineer — London I’m working with a small, high-calibre Series A product company building developer-facing software used by millions globally.
They’re hiring a Backend / Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of the systems behind the product, improve release reliability, and help scale the platform as they enter their next stage of growth.
This is roughly 2/3 backend engineering and 1/3 platform/infrastructure — so ideal for someone who enjoys building production systems, but also cares about deployment, observability, CI/CD, and making engineering teams faster.
Backend services, APIs, data flows, and production systems• Release safety, versioning, testing, rollbacks, and deployment reliability• Infrastructure, observability, monitoring, and incident response• Tooling and documentation that helps product engineers ship faster• Strong TypeScript / Node.js experience• CI/CD, infrastructure, monitoring/alerting, and reliability experience• Developer tools, SDK, real-time collaboration, or local-first software experience• Experience building infrastructure for products used by both users and developers• Open-source or developer community involvement This would suit someone who likes high ownership, technical depth, and building the kind of backend/platform foundations that let great product teams move quickly.
