Supplier Quality Engineer

Berkshire

£45,000 – £50,000 + Excellent Benefits

Our client, a leading manufacturing business based in Berkshire, is looking to recruit an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to strengthen their quality and supplier performance team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing supplier quality performance, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring components and materials meet the highest manufacturing standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage supplier quality performance across the supply chain
  • Conduct supplier audits and support supplier development activities
  • Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions
  • Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work closely with suppliers to improve quality, delivery, and process capability
  • Support new supplier approvals and onboarding activities
  • Review and approve supplier quality documentation including PPAPs, FAIRs, and control plans
  • Collaborate with internal manufacturing, engineering, and procurement teams
  • Monitor supplier KPIs and produce quality performance reports

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Supplier Quality Engineer or Quality Engineer role within manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of quality systems and supplier management processes
  • Experience conducting supplier audits
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis tools and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity with manufacturing quality standards and documentation
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Engineering or Quality qualification preferred
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and 8D methodologies
