Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Salary: £40,000–£50,000

Location: Sheffield

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
• Support production teams with troubleshooting and resolution of manufacturing issues
• Lead and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, where applicable)
• Assist with new product introduction (NPI), including process validation and documentation
• Work closely with production, quality, and design engineering teams to ensure smooth production flow
• Analyse production data and identify opportunities to improve KPIs such as yield, downtime, and scrap
• Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and engineering standards
• Support tooling, equipment selection, and layout optimisation activities

Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in a Manufacturing Engineer or similar engineering role within a production environment
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles
• Experience with continuous improvement tools and lean manufacturing techniques
• Good problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
• Ability to read engineering drawings and use CAD (desirable)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
• Engineering degree or equivalent qualification preferred
