A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Costs Lawyer to join a well-respected and award-winning North West law firm based in Liverpool.

The Role
You will join the firm’s in-house Billing Team, supporting a variety of legal departments across the wider business. The role will involve managing your own caseload and handling a broad range of costs work from start to finish.
Duties will include:
- Preparing Bills of Costs, including electronic bills
- Drafting Costs Budgets, Replies and Points of Dispute
- Conducting negotiations and advocacy where required
- Managing your own caseload independently
- Working closely with fee earners and legal teams across the firm
- Ensuring KPIs and departmental SLAs are achieved
- Keeping up to date with legal costs developments and compliance requirements
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within a legal costs role
- Previous claimant costs experience preferred
- Ability to manage a caseload independently
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Advocacy experience
- Motivated and approachable attitude
Desirable
- Experience using Cost Master and Proclaim
- Previous mentoring or supervisory experience
