Job Description:

A fast-growing UAV technology start-up is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the development of advanced assurance systems for AI-driven robotics. This is a unique opportunity to work on safety-critical technology in a cutting-edge environment, helping ensure reliability, performance and compliance across complex autonomous systems.

As a Systems Engineer, you will support the design, integration, and delivery of complex safety-critical systems, with a focus on AI-driven and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) applications. Working closely with embedded software, safety, and ML engineering teams, you will contribute across the full systems engineering lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities of the Systems Engineer

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of system architectures for advanced autonomous and AI-driven technologies
  • Work closely with software, hardware, safety, and ML teams to support integration across complex engineering systems
  • Produce and maintain system documentation including requirements, specifications, and interface definitions
  • Support system integration, verification, and acceptance activities across the project lifecycle
  • Participate in engineering reviews and contribute to the successful delivery of safety-focused solutions
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and support project delivery

Skills & Experience of the Systems Engineer

  • Degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Understanding of embedded technologies, real-time environments, and integrated hardware/software systems
  • Knowledge of safety and certification frameworks such as DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, and ARP4761
  • Experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
  • Comfortable working within fast-paced engineering and development environments
  • Active SC Clearance essential
