Job Title: Propeller & Fluid Dynamics Lead Engineer
Location: Southampton, (Swanwick) UK
The Opportunity
We are supporting a growing marine technology company developing next-generation electric propulsion systems for marine applications.
They are looking for a Propeller & Fluid Dynamics Lead Engineer to take ownership of propeller performance, hydrodynamic optimisation and propulsion analysis across a range of electric drive products.
This role will suit someone with existing propeller, hydrodynamics or marine propulsion experience gained through industry, specialist projects or academic research.
The Impact You Will Have
• Lead propeller development and optimisation activities
• Improve vessel efficiency, range and propulsion performance
• Support testing, validation and real-world performance analysis
• Work closely with suppliers, manufacturers and engineering teams
• Contribute to next-generation electric marine technology development
Skills & Experience
• Degree qualified in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or related discipline
• Experience or exposure to propeller design, hydrodynamics or marine propulsion systems
• Understanding of vessel performance and propulsion optimisation
• Experience with CFD, propeller analysis or marine simulation tools is advantageous
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering environment
