Location: Leicester

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum

We are recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a growing engineering and production business based in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive engineer looking to play a key role in driving manufacturing efficiency, process improvement, and production performance within a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with production, quality, and design teams to optimise manufacturing processes, improve productivity, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes and production methods
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and lower production costs
• Support new product introduction and ensure manufacturability of components and assemblies
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and process flows
• Work closely with production teams to resolve manufacturing and process-related issues
• Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean manufacturing principles
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality and production concerns
• Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to ensure smooth production operations
• Assist with tooling, equipment selection, and process validation activities
• Ensure compliance with health and safety and quality standards

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Manufacturing Engineer position within an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
• Experience with process optimisation and production support
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
• HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering preferred
