Engineering Manager – UAV / Aerospace Systems – Maidenhead

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead multidisciplinary avionics and robotics teams developing advanced UAV and autonomous aircraft systems.

This role combines technical leadership with people management, helping shape engineering capability while supporting the delivery of complex aerospace programmes. You’ll work across avionics, embedded systems, robotics, and systems engineering, ensuring solutions are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

• Previous experience leading engineering teams within aerospace, robotics, or embedded systems environments
• Strong technical background in avionics, embedded systems, robotics, or related disciplines
• Understanding of systems engineering principles and engineering lifecycle management
• Experience working within regulated or safety-critical environments
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills
• Experience with verification, validation, and testing methodologies
• Ability to lead technical decision-making across complex engineering programmes

Desirable:

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline (Masters advantageous)
• Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Knowledge of aerospace standards such as DO-178, DO-254, ISO, or IEC frameworks
• Programme or project delivery experience
• UAV, autonomous systems, or aerospace platform experience
