Our client is looking for an experienced Operations Director to lead and strengthen operational performance within a growing industrial automation business.
This is a key leadership role for someone with a strong background in manufacturing, automation, engineering, or systems integration, and a proven ability to deliver efficiency, quality, and growth.
The Role
As Operations Director, you will oversee day-to-day operations and ensure the business delivers projects, products, and services safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
You will work closely with the leadership team to improve processes, manage resources, and support the company’s continued expansion across the UK industrial automation market.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead operational strategy and drive continuous improvement across the business.
- Oversee production, project delivery, supply chain, and service operations.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
- Develop and implement systems, processes, and best practices to improve efficiency.
- Work closely with engineering, sales, finance, and senior leadership teams.
- Monitor performance against KPIs, budgets, and operational targets.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, and customer focus.
- Support workforce planning, team development, and organisational growth.
- Identify risks and implement practical solutions to operational challenges.
About You
- Proven experience in a senior operations leadership role within industrial automation, engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical sector.
- Strong understanding of project delivery, production, supply chain, and service management.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Commercially aware with the ability to balance efficiency, quality, and customer requirements.
- Confident communicator with strong planning and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience of driving change and improving operational performance.
- UK-based and willing to travel as required.
