We are currently partnering with a Local Authority in Somerset, who are recruiting for a fully remote Education Lawyer to join their growing team on a locum, 3 month (rolling) contract).
This is a full-time position with an hourly rate of £50 – £60/hour umbrella (negotiable) and the start date is subject to notice.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Advising the Local Authority on education law matters, including school admissions, exclusions, special educational needs, and safeguarding obligations
- Representing the Local Authority in tribunal hearings, court proceedings, and negotiations involving education-related disputes and compliance issues
- Drafting and reviewed legal documents, policies, and agreements to ensure the Local Authority complied with relevant education legislation and statutory guidance
Requirements:
- Experience required in Local Government
- Qualified Solicitor/Barrister
- Education law experience
