Overview

We’re looking for a hands-on Site Electrical Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery of electrical commissioning activities on a major UK site. This is a self-delivery commissioning environment — meaning you must be comfortable personally carrying out testing and commissioning of electrical assets with minimal supervision/support.

If you’ve got strong on-site commissioning experience across LV and MV systems, thrive in fast-paced construction/industrial environments, and can work with minimal supervision, this is a great opportunity to step into a key delivery role.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead and execute on-site electrical commissioning activities and reporting
  • Carry out inspections, test/verification and functional performance testing
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, HSE and other site stakeholders to plan and deliver commissioning safely and efficiently
  • Review design documents/drawings for compliance with specs, standards and codes
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve commissioning issues/defects; manage close-out
  • Maintain and update commissioning documentation including punch lists
  • Coordinate with site interfaces including Siemens, LOTO and admin functions
  • Support safe systems of work, including HSE compliance and permit/LOTO processes

Essential experience (must-have)

  • Proven site-based commissioning experience in electrical systems
  • Hands-on commissioning/testing of electrical assets including:
  • LV & MV switchgear
  • Generator Circuit Breaker (GCB)
  • CT & VT testing
  • Transformer testing
  • Ability to work independently and deliver commissioning without reliance on supervision/support
  • Strong understanding of relevant standards, codes and safe working practices
  • Clear documentation and communication skills (reports, test evidence, punch lists)

Desirable

  • Familiarity with Siemens systems/interfaces
  • Experience with structured commissioning plans/procedures and close-out processes
  • Safety certification (e.g., NEBOSH/IOSH/OSHA-equivalent) and strong HSE mindset

Degree/HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
