I’m working with a leading UK wealth management firm looking to appoint a Business Development Support / Associate on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is a newly created role, supporting the Head of Business Development within the firm’s bespoke investment management division. It would suit someone highly organised, commercially aware and confident in a client-facing environment, who is looking to build their career in wealth management, investment management or business development.
This is not a heavy sales role. The focus is on supporting business development activity, helping coordinate events, preparing for meetings and pitches, managing internal stakeholders, supporting marketing collateral, and building relationships across the professional intermediary market.
You’ll be working closely with the Head of Business Development, supporting engagement with professional connections such as law firms, accountants, trustees, investment consultants and other introducers.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Head of BD with meeting preparation, coordination and follow-up
- Helping organise and attend events, client meetings and professional intermediary activity
- Supporting the development of relationships with professional services firms and introducers
- Helping prepare pitch materials, presentations and collateral
- Liaising internally with investment management, wealth planning, marketing, compliance and other teams
- Supporting contact strategy, reporting and management information
- Acting as a confident ambassador for the firm and its proposition
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least a couple of years’ experience in a financial services or professional services environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence communicating with internal and external stakeholders
- A proactive, polished and professional approach
- An interest in wealth management or investment management
- Experience in business development support, sales support, events, marketing, client coordination or relationship management would be highly relevant
We are open to a range of backgrounds. You do not need to be an experienced BDM or have an established intermediary network, but you will need to be credible, organised and comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders.
The role is predominantly home-based, with travel to events and an expectation to attend the London office approximately every couple of weeks. There may also be flexibility for candidates based elsewhere in the UK, particularly if they can travel when needed.
The salary range is £40,000–£60,000, depending on experience, plus benefits. Although this is initially a 12-month FTC, there is a strong possibility the role could become permanent if successful.
Please get in touch for a confidential conversation.
