Sous/Senior Sous Chef – Premium French Restaurant | Central London | £50,000–£55,000

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled Sous or Senior Sous Chef with a strong background in high-end London dining and a genuine passion for exceptional produce. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in maintaining standards, supporting menu development, and ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations.

The Concept

A vibrant, high-volume brasserie inspired by French and New York dining culture, with a menu leaning toward the French/Mediterranean style. The kitchen delivers a mix of:

  • A la carte service
  • Events menus
  • Canapés

The site currently caters for around 100 covers (up to 140 at peak) and has strong potential for further growth.

The Role

As Sous Chef, you will:

  • Support the Head Chef in leading, developing, and inspiring a team of 8–9 kitchen staff
  • Assist with menu development and continuous improvement
  • Help drive standards across quality, consistency, and presentation
  • Oversee kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence
  • Support supplier relationships and sourcing, ensuring only the best produce is used
  • Assist with training, recruitment, and development within the kitchen team
  • Maintain high standards of organisation, cleanliness, and kitchen compliance

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Sous or Senior Sous Chef in high-end London restaurants
  • Strong background in French brasserie or similar cuisine
  • A true passion for product-led cooking — Product, Product, Product is at the heart of this role
  • Strong knowledge of seasonal produce and quality sourcing
  • A hands-on team player with strong leadership qualities
  • Experience across both high-volume service and events catering
  • Ambition, reliability, and a desire to progress within a quality-driven business
