If the answer to these questions is yes, then we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join the North West Ambulance Service Quality Directorate as one of our Patient Safety Incident Coordinators.

Main duties of the job

The North West Ambulance Service is committed to improving the way in which the NHS responds to patient safety incidents and we are seeking to develop and strengthen our team to manage the new Patient Safety Incident Response Framework.

The post holder will work closely with Lead Patient Safety Incident Investigators to provide support the Patient Safety Incident Investigations process including the organisation of multi-disciplinary Patient Safety Incident meetings with a variety of stakeholders.

The ability to travel across the Northwest will be required as part of this post.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Ability to have a methodical approach to work
  • Ability to keep accurate and complete records consistent with best practice policies, procedures, and guidance

  • Ability to travel and work across the NWAS footprint

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Educated to Diploma level and/or able to demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge and experience
  • PSIRF Training Requirements
  • Level 1 (Essentials of Patient Safety) of the Patient Safety Syllabus
  • Knowledge of NHSE Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF)

Experience

  • Experience of working in a senior administration/ coordinator role
  • Experience of handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Previous experience in an NHS environment
  • Experience of developing clear, accurate, and comprehensive reports
