Occupational Therapist (6-9 Month Fixed term Contract)

Job Overview

Are you a recently qualified Occupational Therapist looking to embark on a rewarding career? This fixed‑term position (6‑9 months) is part‑time, 30 hours per week, covering maternity leave at The Spinney, Atherton.

We provide a secure setting for service users detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) with a history of offending behaviour. The role is performed alongside a dedicated team, with supervision from experienced healthcare professionals and access to training opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive OT assessments.
• Under supervision, plan, review, and facilitate evidence‑based group and individual programmes.
• Identify and action referrals (both in‑house and external agencies).
• Support the planning, evaluation, and audit of practices, clinical pathways and protocols.
• Maintain contemporaneous written and electronic records and activity data to professional and service standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• UK HCPC registration or application in progress.
• Evidence of ability to research, plan, implement and evaluate a project for specific groups.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
