Clinical Healthcare Support Worker, Band 3

This is a part time role of 22.5 hours per week

Main duties of the job
- To participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team providing the highest standard of patient care
- Setting up of the bay in preparation for the day and cleaning of clinical area
- Printing patient labels and wrist bands
- Undertake specific delegated tasks following the appropriate training and competency level e.g. patient observations including weight, and hand grip strengths
- Assisting with moving and handling
- To assist patients with hygiene and toileting when required
- Ensuring patients are comfortable
- Admit and discharge patients on TRAK
- Emptying Ascitc drains
- Stocking up
- Taking scripts to pharmacy including order book
- Collecting from Pharmacy
- Ordering and chasing stores
- Cannulation and phlebotomy
- Podding bloods
- Patient nutrition and hydration
- To undertake clinical activities, following training and assessment, as directed by the Registered Nurse
- To report any change in the condition of patients to the nurse in charge
- To adhere to all Trust policies and procedures

Job responsibilities
- To contribute to maintaining a suitable environment to meet the needs of the patients
- To undertake housekeeping activities such as: disposal of linen, cleaning, tidying and re-stocking equipment, in accordance with Infection control policy
- To maintain continuity of supplies by being aware of products commonly used by nurses in patient treatments, assist in units stock control system
- To keep equipment storage areas safe and in good order and report any damage to the nurse in charge
Person Specification
Qualification and Training
- Care certificate
- Basic life support
Knowledge and Skills
- Previous experience in relevant specialty
